Former Colts and Central Michigan running back, Zurlon Tipton died after an accidental self-inflicted gun wound in Detroit early this morning.
Initial reports indicate, Tipton, 26, pulled into the car dealership and went to his trunk to retrieve a duffel bag. At the moment, one of the two guns he had in his trunk went off, injuring him in the stomach. He was initially taken to the hospital in ‘ good condition’, but however passed away.
In 2012, Zurlon ran for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns at Central Michigan. His senior season was cut short due to injuries.
During his two seasons with the Colts, Tipton ran for 38 yards on 15 carries before being released by the team in December.
May you rest in peace, Zurlon Tipton.
