UNC beats Duke on Rivalry Saturday

Jesus Martinez | Main Columnist

The North Carolina Tar Heels, ranked #8 coming into Durham, defeated the #17 Duke Blue Devils. The Tar Heels consistently dominated the boards throughout the game. The contest was close, as Duke kept it going with 13 3-pointers, but it was too much, as UNC pulled away with a 76-72 victory. In what would seem like a blowout for Duke, UNC dominated the boards, grabbing 71% of missed shots by Duke and getting 13 Offensive Boards. Crashing the glass allowed UNC to get second chance points, limited Dukes opportunties, and gave North Carolina the ugly 76-72 win. However, a win is a win, and momentum will be carried into the ACC Tournament.
