Stephen Curry has been named MVP for the 2015-16 NBA season. It's understandable since he had one of the most dominate seasons in NBA history, as far as himself and the team. The Davidson product averaged over 30 points per game, 6.7 assists and about 5 1/2 rebounds per contest. The Warriors went 73-9 this season, the best in NBA regular season history. He is the 11th player to repeat as MVP in the 70 year existence. But history doesn't stop there. We are well aware that the Warriors put up a record setting year led by Stephen Curry, who arguably has the most dominate year in NBA history, but what could happen in the MVP voting be a first in NBA history.
Speculations believe that Stephen Curry could be the first player to unanimously win the MVP award. It's hard to believe in 70 years, no one has flat out voted for a player to be MVP. But it has never happened! LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal were the two closest players to achieving the feat, but both fell one vote shy of of being unanimous MVP's. If Stephen Curry can do this, he will have undoubtedly the best season by a player on arguably the best team in NBA history.
UPDATE: May 11, 2016: Stephen Curry wins MVP award, being the first unanimous winning in MVP voting history.
